We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join a leading multi-national Financial Services organisation based in Cheltenham.
Reporting to the IT Controller, you will primarily be responsible for supporting the IT Controller in managing IT costs, assisting with major IT projects and interfacing with Finance and Group IT.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Provide financial support to major IT projects. Manage financial approval of CITO projects and monitor spend. Monitor SLA`s with the business and manage communication with IT and the business. Manage sign off requirements.
Assist with planning and forecasting, working within the team to ensure all submissions agree with accounting policy, particularly IAS 38.
Review of allocated costs and agreement of the detail behind intercompany invoices from Switzerland.
Review of capiltalisation of TS projects and balance sheet reconciliations.
Liaison with TS programme office to ensure correct finance procedures are adhered to.
Ad hoc projects and support for IT Controller. Provide cover for IT controller when not in office.
Provide cover for other roles within the local finance function.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
Qualified Accountant with experience in an Insurance environment.
Project analysis including preparation of financial business case.
Experience of vendor management, particularly with outsourcing.
Experience of financial controls and expense monitoring. Sound balance sheet control.
Knowledge of SAP (or use of other financial system).
Strong PC skills - Excel and Word.
Good presentation skills.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to work under pressure whilst remaining calm and positive. A good team player, self-starter, motivated and committed. They will have good interpersonal skills and be willing to challenge and question at all levels.
